Uganda’s Crested Cranes forward Juliet Nalukenge opened her scoring account for Atlas Femenil, netting a dramatic late winner in a pulsating 4-3 victory over Pumas UNAM in the Mexican Women’s League.

Nalukenge, who recently joined Atlas Femenil, has been gradually introduced into the team setup, mostly featuring as a substitute. Heading into this fixture, she had accumulated just 75 minutes of action across five of the last six league games.

With the game finely poised at 3-3, the 21-year-old was introduced in the 79th minute, replacing Sanjuana Muñoz. Her impact was immediate and decisive, calmly slotting home from a clever pass by Maritza Maldonado in the sixth minute of added time, sealing all three points for her side.

The result extended Atlas Femenil’s impressive run, making it five wins in their last seven league outings, alongside one draw and a single loss.

Nalukenge and her teammates will look to build on this momentum when they return to action on Thursday, 16th October, against Club América.
