Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo is has set his sit on a summer exit from newly relegated English Premier League side Southampton as he aims to leave Sky Bet Championship.

The Saints faced a bitter end to their 2024/25 campaign, as they were relegated from the Premier League for the third time in as many seasons. Their return to the Championship marks a disappointing outcome for a club that had harbored hopes of solidifying its top-flight status.

Aribo found himself increasingly marginalized towards the end of the recent campaign, struggling to even secure a spot in the matchday squad under interim manager Simon Rusk.

According to the Daily Record, the 28-year-old has reportedly told Southampton he wants to leave the club this summer, as he has been consistently overlooked, often watching from the sidelines as his teammates competed.

The Nigeria international has set his sights on a return to his former club, Rangers. Aribo left the Light Blues for the St Mary’s Stadium in 2022. He is still a popular figure at the Ibrox after an impressive three year spell at the club.
