Super Eagles midfielder Joe Aribo is reportedly on the verge of a deadline-day move to Leicester City, with the Foxes finalising a loan deal with Championship rivals Southampton.
The move, which would see Aribo remain at the King Power Stadium for the remainder of the season, is expected to be officially completed before Monday’s transfer deadline.
The 29-year-old has found game time difficult to come by on the South Coast this season. Despite his status as a seasoned international, Aribo has been limited to just seven substitute appearances for the Saints in the current campaign.
While the Nigerian playmaker was heavily linked with a move to the Turkish Süper Lig earlier in the window, he has opted to stay in England to help boost Leicester’s promotion aspirations.
Aribo arrived at St Mary’s in 2022 following a highly successful stint with Scottish giants Rangers. During his time with Southampton, he has racked up 111 appearances across all competitions, proving himself a versatile asset in both the Premier League and the Championship.
With Leicester looking to add depth and experience to their engine room for the season’s final stretch, Aribo’s arrival is seen as a key piece of business for the Foxes.
