Jonathan Sowah: Ghana striker terminates Simba contract

Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah has terminated his contract with Tanzania giants, Simba SC on mutual grounds.

The former Danbort attacker and his teammate, Alhasane Kante were banned for 5 matches and fined Sh1 million each for their actions in the Premier League match against Azam FC on December 7, 2025, at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium.

The former Medeama SC striker was also suspended by Simba for disciplinary issues and was given five days to respond to allegations leveled against him.

Sowah was adjudged to attend training sessions and club meetings late with the technical team and management continually raising concerns over his actions.

A source closer to Sowah told Pan Africa Football that, the 27-year-old is not happy with the allegations leveled against him by the club and he wants out of the contract.

Renowned African football journalist, Micky Junior announced on his X page that, “a mutual termination contract” has been submitted to the club by Sowah’s team to end the marriage.

A brief letter sent to Pan Africa Football by Jonathan Sowah’s Public Relations Manager Alex Mensah Eshun read.

“It’s official now.

“It’s over between Jonathan Sowah and Simba SC.

“A mutual contract termination letter has been submitted to the club.

“The player is understood to be unhappy with allegations raised against him and has decided it’s best to move on.

“Thank you simba Sowah is grateful….More to come stay tuned!!!!!!!!!

Sowah joined Simba from Singida Black Stars after previously playing for Medeama of Ghana and Al Nasr of Libya.

He has three international appearances for the senior team of Ghana the Black Stars.
