Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah increased his goal tally for the season after scoring for Singida SC who defeated Dodoma Jiji on Wednesday in the Tanzania Premier League.
Sowah, who has been in some blistering form for Singida, doubled the visitors tally with just six minutes played at the Jamhuri Stadium, consolidating their points on the league table.
Prior to Sowah netting for his club, Arthur Bada had shot them ahead in the first minute after latching on to an assist from Ghana midfielder, Emmanuel Keyeke.
The home side pulled one back from the boot of Iddi Kipagwile in the 44th minute but that was not enough to save them from home loss. The victory builds Singida’s points to 56 points and they are currently seated in fourth place – a spot that qualifies them for the CAF Confederation Cup next season.
Jonathan Sowah, who cut his teeth with Ghana second tier side Danbort before joining Medeama in the Ghana Premier League, has now scored 12 goals in 12 league matches.
He joined Singida from Libya outfit Al Nasr in a deal reported to be in the region of $220,000. He is capped three times by the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.
