Ghana striker Jonathan Sowah capped the last game of the Tanzania Mainland Premier League season on Sunday with his 13th goal for club side Singida Black Stars.
Sowah, who registered a goal last weekend in his side’s 2-1 win at Dodoma Jiji last Wednesday at the Jamhuri Stadium, grabbed another goal as Singida drew 3-3 at home to Tanzania Prisons on Sunday. Singida still have one more match in the final of Tanzania’s Federation Cup on June 28 against Young Africans. Regardless of the result, Singida will take part in the 2025-26 CAF Confederation Cup.
The goal for the former Medeama SC attacker increased his tally for the season to 13 goals in thirteen league matches after joining the side in the second half of the season.
The draw still kept Singida in fourth on the table with 57 points from 30 matches and a spot at next season’s CAF Confederation Cup.
Jonathan Sowah cut his teeth with Ghana second tier side Danbort before joining Medeama in the Ghana Premier League, which he helped win the league.
He left Medeama and joined Libya outfit Al Nasr before a move to Singida in a deal reported to be in the region of $220,000. He is capped three times by the senior national team of Ghana, the Black Stars.
