Simba striker Jonathan Sowah has expressed shock over the disciplinary action taken against him by the club where he was sent back to Dar-es-Salaam before their game against Tanzania Prisons last Sunday in Mbeya.
Sowah, who joined Simba from Singida Black Stars, was a subject of bribery allegations and misconduct but the former Medeama SC striker has expressed concerns over the action.
“I don’t know why I was told to return to Dar. The team manager followed me and gave me that message. Since he is my leader, I was not supposed to question him much more than to implement it,” he told Mwanaspoti.
“Regarding the allegations of misconduct, I hear from you but I have also seen people only write on social media. I have read it, but I am waiting for the leadership meeting to find out the reason.
“When I finish with the leadership, I will go back to those who have written things without knowing the truth from me. I am not someone who will accept my name being tarnished easily,”
He was accused of taking bribes from his former club, Singida Black Stars, a side he joined from Al Nasr of Libya.
The management of Jonathan Sowah have released a statement regarding the bribery allegations leveled against the Ghana striker.
Jonathan Sowah, 27, played for Ghana Premier League side Medeama Sporting Club before signing for Libya outfit Al Nasr in a deal reported to be in the region of 200,000 Euros.
He was snapped up by Singida Black Stars with his blistering performance courting the interest of Simba who signed him in 2025.
