Ghana captain Jordan Ayew has added his voice to the numerous calls surrounding the squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
There have been several debates over which players should make the final cut for the global football showpiece to be co-hosted by Canada, USA and Mexico.
One name that has drawn conversations is former captain, Andre Ayew who has regained some form at Dutch side NAC Breda with diasporans Callum Hudson-Odoi, Eddie Nketiah and others equally eliciting debates in Ghana.
Jordan Ayew has however kicked against massive changes to the squad for the World Cup.
“I think the players who played during the qualifiers have done extremely well. I don’t think we need any additions. “I believe we have a good team, and as time goes on, we are improving.
“The unity is getting better and everything is improving. I don’t think this is the right time to make changes,” Jordan Ayew told Asempa FM.
Jordan Ayew was key to Ghana’s World Cup qualification where his contribution helped the Black Stars reach its fifth tournament.
The four time African champions however missed out on the last Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco and they will look to redeem their image on the global stage as Ghana is paired in Group L alongside European sides England and Croatia as well as Panama.
