Spanish coach Jose Riveiro expressed his deep gratitude to Egyptian giants Al Ahly following the end of his tenure with the club.
In his farewell statements published on Al Ahly’s official website, Riveiro said:
“The time has come to say goodbye, but I leave with love and gratitude for Al Ahly. I arrived three months ago, and it was a great honor to work within such a prestigious institution and to help lead the team in major domestic and international competitions.”
The coach, who guided Al Ahly in both the Nile Egyptian League and the FIFA Club World Cup, added:
“I depart proud of this period and thankful to everyone who supported me. I will remain a supporter of Al Ahly from afar and wish the club and its fans all the best for the future. It was a wonderful and challenging experience, and an honor for us to defend Al Ahly’s badge.”
Riveiro also addressed the club’s fans directly:
“Continue to support the team in a positive way, because your support makes the difference and helps the players give their best. Al Ahly always needs its fans behind it, and I am confident the team will continue achieving success.”
Riveiro leaves Al Ahly after a difficult spell, overseeing seven matches across the Nile Egyptian League and the FIFA Club World Cup. During his short tenure, the team managed just one win, with two defeats and four draws. In the domestic league, they played four matches, collecting a single victory, one loss, and two draws — a run that sees them sitting in 13th place on the table.
