Jose Riveiro, head coach of Egyptian giants Al Ahly, affirmed that the team’s training camp in Tunisia has successfully achieved its goals and has been positive on all levels, regardless of the results of the friendly matches.
He clarified that the main objective was to implement certain tactical aspects, define the team’s playing style, and enhance attacking variety in order to reach the performance level the technical staff is aiming for.
Speaking to Al Ahly’s official website, Riveiro said:
“The atmosphere in the camp was excellent. The players’ spirit and eagerness to participate and maintain tactical focus were extremely positive and left a good impression on the coaching staff regarding their readiness at this stage of pre-season preparation.”
He added:
“We have a distinguished group of players who are capable of executing our playing style and winning every match. However, we are looking to continuously improve performance and reach the desired technical level over time.”
The Spanish head coach concluded his statements by saying:
“We have great ambitions to win championships and bring joy to our fans. We will play every match and every competition with the aim of winning.”
Al Ahly played two friendly matches during their training camp in Tunisia, defeating Stade Tunisien 4-1 and securing a 5-0 victory over CA Bizertin.
The team will conclude its camp on Sunday before returning to Egypt to play a friendly match next Tuesday, after the cancellation of the previously scheduled game against Étoile du Sahel.
