JS Kabylie announce the signing of Algerian striker Aimen Mahious

In a major move ahead of the new season, Algerian giants JS Kabylie have officially announced the signing of striker Aimen Mahious on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old forward has signed a three-year contract with the club, keeping him at JS Kabylie until the summer of 2028.

Mahious was previously under contract with Swiss side Yverdon Sport, but took advantage of a clause that allowed him to leave on a free transfer in the event of the club’s relegation — a scenario that unfolded at the end of the Swiss season.

The Algerian international spent the 2024/2025 season on loan at CR Belouizdad, where he had reportedly agreed to join on a permanent deal. However, he opted to sign with JS Kabylie.

JS Kabylie will be participating in the CAF Champions League next season, while CR Belouizdad are set to feature in the CAF Confederation Cup — a factor that may have influenced Mahious’ decision to join the Kabyle side.

Prolific Season for Aimen Mahious

Aymen Mahious delivered a prolific performance last season, showcasing his goal-scoring instincts across multiple competitions. He featured in 38 matches, scoring 24 goals and providing 3 assists in total.

  • In the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1, he played 22 games, netting 14 goals and assisting 3 times.

  • In the CAF Champions League, he added 4 goals in 7 appearances.

  • In the Algerian Cup, he scored 4 goals in 6 matches.

  • He also made an impact in the Algerian Super Cup, scoring 2 goals in his sole appearance.

  • Additionally, he featured in 2 games in the Swiss Super League during his time with Yverdon Sport.
