Renan Bezerra, the father of Juan Alvina, Zamalek’s new 22-year-old signing, has expressed his delight at his son’s move to the Egyptian giants, insisting it was an easy choice over other offers.
Juan Alvina joined Zamalek this summer from Ukrainian side Oleksandriya, and his father revealed that feeling welcomed in Egypt make him feel they made the right decision.
“We are extremely happy to accept Zamalek’s offer and reject other clubs. You can already see this happiness on Juan’s face, in the way he plays, and even in the way he celebrates goals with his teammates.”
Bezerra emphasized that the decision to join Zamalek was straightforward:
“It was easy to choose Zamalek, especially after the way the fans embraced him with love, respect, and support. We hope Juan continues to repay that on the pitch.”
The Brazilian also praised Zamalek’s passionate fanbase:
“Zamalek fans are incredible. They love their club and their players deeply, and I’ve seen their support through messages and comments on Instagram. Personally, I also felt welcomed in Egypt by the fans, the club, and everyone working here. That makes me believe we made the right decision.”
Finally, Juan Alvina’s father made a personal request regarding his son’s name:
“I hope people will call him Juan Bezerra, because that’s the name he was known by in Ukraine, and it’s what he and our family want him to be recognized as in Egypt as well.”
