Reigning Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have signed striker Jude Ssemugabi from Kitara FC on a three-year deal, according to Swift Sports Uganda.

Ssemugabi, a key figure at Kitara FC, arrives after two successful seasons with the Hoima-based side.

Prior to joining Kitara in July 2023, he had an impactful five-year stint at Mbarara City, where he played a crucial role in the club’s promotion to the top tier for the 2023/24 season.

Ssemugabi found the back of the net ten times for Kitara in 2023/24 and continued his good form with six goals last season.

His contributions were pivotal in helping Kitara clinch their first-ever Stanbic Uganda Cup trophy in 2024, as well as in assisting the Uganda Cranes secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, set to take place in Morocco.

With continental competition on the cards for the 2025/26 season, Vipers SC are expected to be active in the transfer market as they strengthen their squad ahead of a demanding campaign.
