Junior Olaitan scores first Super Lig goal as Goztepe remain unbeaten

Benin national team star Junior Olaitan opened his account in the Turkish Super Lig on Friday evening as visitors Göztepe dominated Karagümrük by a 2-0 score.

The arrival from French second tier side Grenoble ahead of the 2025-26 campaign helped his new club continue an excellent start with their second win in three games. “Route 1” football created Olaitan’s goal when a long ball from goalkeeper Mateusz Lis was flicked on to Janderson. The Brazilian forward then played a pass to find the run of Olaitan for the finish.

Olaitan and Janderson are the two most notable signings for Göztepe this season and both are delivering with contributions on four of Göztepe’s five goals so far this season. Before the third matchday takes full flight over the weekend, Göztepe will briefly sit atop the Turkish top flight table.

Göztepe will hope to stay unbeaten next Friday when they host Konyaspor for their next match. The club finished 8th last season.
