Kaizer Chiefs head coach Nasreddine Nabi believes his side should have scored more than one goal in their 1-1 Betway Premiership draw against TS Galaxy on Saturday.

Amakhosi came away from Peter Mokaba Stadium somewhat disappointed with only one point from the fixture against the Rockets, which stretched their winless run in the top-flight to four matches.

Wandile Duba had sent Amakhosi into halftime with a well-deserved 1-0 lead thanks to his 36th minute opener but in a lacklustre second period, they offered Galaxy a way back into the match, which they took in the 81st minute, courtesy of Mlungisi Mbunjana’s equaliser.

"It’s true that as well as the opportunities we got was through our pressing, timing, it’s what we worked on to prepare for this opponent, I’m tired of repeating myself on the chances we missing,” the Tunisian coach said after the game on SuperSport TV.

“We should have scored more than one goal – we gave the opponents a chance to stay alive and we know they are good in set-pieces, and we tried to make changes, and we unfortunately conceded from a corner.”

On his decision to bring Edimilson Dove, Nabi explained: "We didn’t plan to bring on Dove but when Miguel got injured, we had to sub him. We wanted to bring in George Matlou and Tashreeq Morris to bring height for Morris, the official wasn’t fast enough when we wanted to change and we then conceded.

Unfortunately, we have to deal with these injuries, there’s nothing we can do, it’s penalised us a lot lately but there’s nothing we can do but deal with it and give confidence to other players.”

The point helped Chiefs to rise to eighth in the 16-team league league standings, with 30 points from 24 matches, and they will want a strong finish to the campaign in order to secure a high position.
