Kaizer Chiefs were organised despite FC Utrecht victory- Utrecht scouting chief

Utrecht FC head of scouting Ulje Schut has given his verdict on Kaizer Chiefs’ performance in their 4-0 loss to the Dutch opposition on Friday.

The Betway Premiership giants are in the Netherlands for pre-season training. Coach Nasreddine Nabi’s men started the pre-season tour of Europe with a 2-1 loss to Vitesse last week.

Therefore, improvements were expected when Chiefs lined up against the Dutch Eredivisie club. However, the quality of Utrecht proved too much for the Soweto giants.

Despite the defeat, Schut felt the scoreline does not tell the full story of Chiefs performance:

“The two central defenders really performed well,” said the ex-Sundowns defender Schut who watched the game. Chiefs played well-organised football. However, soccer is also about small details and that’s, for example, how the first goal was conceded. The players will learn from those kind of moments.”

FC Utrecht media says their coach Ron Jans was impressed with Nkosingiphile Ngcobo’s display. Chiefs’ next game against NEC is scheduled for the main field of Dutch amateur side Overasseltse Boys at Sportpark de Passelêgt in Overasselt.
