Kakamega Homeboyz confirm exit of coach Francis Baraza after expiry of contract

Kenyan Premier League side Kakamega Homeboyz have confirmed the exit of head coach Francis Baraza, who has already joined Tanzanian side Pamba Jiji FC as the new head coach.

In a statement, Homeboyz said: “We can confirm that coach Francis Baraza has left the club following the expiry of his short-term contract. During his tenure, Baraza guided us to a podium finish, our best league performance in two years, since securing second place in the 2021/22 season. Under his leadership, the team registered 15 wins, 12 draws, and only three losses, a testament to his tactical acumen.

“We sincerely thank Coach Frank Baroza for the memories and the milestones achieved during his time with us, and we extend our very best wishes as he embarks on his next chapter.”

Meanwhile, Kenyan midfielder Shaphan Siwa Oyugi has joined Tanzania’s Pamba Jiji FC crossing over from Kagera Sugar where he joined during the mid-season transfer window from Tusker.

The former Kariobangi Sharks man will link with Kenyan quartet of head coach Baraza, goalkeeper trainer John Waw, defender Christopher Oruchum and striker Matthew Tegisi, who also ply trade with the NBC Premier League side.
