Kambugu eager to help BUL achieve their targets

BUL FC have bolstered their striking department with the acquisition of teenage sensation Lawrence Kambugu, who has signed a two-year contract with the Jinja-based side.

The 18-year-old forward arrives on the back of a stellar season in the FUFA Big League with Ntugasaze, where he emerged as the league’s top scorer with 15 goals. His remarkable form caught the attention of several top-tier clubs, but it is BUL who secured his signature.

Kambugu’s football journey began at Rays of Grace Academy, before progressing to the Uganda Premier League with a short spell at Gaddafi FC, and later establishing himself as a proven goalscorer in the second division.

After sealing the move, the youngster expressed his delight at the opportunity to represent BUL:

“I thank God and BUL FC for the chance given to me. I am here to help the club achieve its targets. It is a big team with a winning mentality, and I love winning, too.”

Head coach Abbey Kikomeko was equally upbeat about the new addition, pointing out that Kambugu provides the extra firepower they lacked last season:

“We struggled with scoring goals last season, especially in the first round. That’s why we widened our striking options by adding Lawrence. He is a good addition to the team, and as the technical staff, we are ready to guide him to succeed in the Uganda Premier League.”

With his proven eye for goal and youthful hunger, Kambugu is expected to play a crucial role as BUL aim to sharpen their attacking edge in the upcoming campaign.
