Israeli Premier League: Kangwa assists match winner for league leaders Hapoel

Kings Kangwa’s corner kick provided the match-winning assist in a 2-1 victory for Hapoel Be’er Sheva in Monday’s Israeli Premier League top-of-the-table clash with Beitar Jerusalem.

The Zambian whipped in an excellent service to find the head of defender Or Blorian, who nodded in the 65th goal that would make the difference for the Camels. They now lead Monday’s opponents by four points at the top of the Israeli Premier League table following the result.

Kangwa was influential throughout the match before being substituted after 88 minutes. He created two big chances and was successful on 76% of his passes in the final third according to Sofascore, leading the analysis site to award him with an 8.3 rating.

Kangwa spurs Hapoel’s Israeli Premier League title push

But Kangwa continued his fine form since returning to his club at the beginning of January from the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. His reliable set piece deliveries contributed to another important victory for Hapoel, giving the former Red Star Belgrade player 3 goals and 3 assists in 6 matches since returning from the AFCON.

Hapoel will next travel to face midtable side SC Ashdod on Saturday. Kangwa has 6 goals and 5 assists in 20 league matches this season.
