“This adds strength to our bench and belief to our squad. Welcome to FC Ashantigold, Coach. Let’s get to work.” The statement on the club’s Facebook page read.
Karim Zito resigned from his position in January as head coach of record Ghana Premier League holders Asante Kotoko after strings of poor performances.
He led the Porcupine Warriors to their 10th FA Cup glory last season before supervising a poor CAF Confederation campaign where they suffered a 6-1 aggregate loss to Morocco giants Wydad Athletic Club in the second preliminary stage.
The former Ghana international previously led Ghana Premier League side Dreams FC to the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup in the 2022/23 season.
FC AshantiGold 04 currently lead the Division One League Zone II table with 40 points from 20 league matches, three above former premier league campaigners Ebusua Dwarfs.
