Asante Kotoko’s interim head coach Karim Zito has placed much importance against Aduana Stars in week 29 of the Ghana Premier League.
The Porcupine Warriors will host Aduana at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, April 27 with coach Karim Zito looking forward to recording a perfect start in his first competitive assignment.
Zito replaced the sacked Prosper Narteh Ogum as interim coach and technical director with assistance coming Prince Owusu. Abdul Karim Zito in a speech during his unveiling, disclosed that, he has mind set on the game against Aduana.
“For now they [fans] have to be content with only winning not adding beauty to the game,” Karim Zito said. “My philosophy is to add beauty to goal scoring, this is my philosophy because without possession, you can’t win. If you want stop the opponent from beating you have to possess, when you lose the ball, you lose the game.
“So now all what we are after now is to win, to see us back to the top. So it is not about fine fine football now. So we should go all out and make sure and place the club at the level that we want.
“So now the supporters, it is not about fine fine football, it’s about who wins and that is what we are going to struggle to do. “I like tackling match after match so I am more concerned about the game on Sunday against Aduana.”
Kotoko dropped into 4th on the league table with 47 points after two consecutive losses to Accra Lions and Nations FC last week. They suffered a 3-0 loss to Accra Lions in a week 22 outstanding fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium before bowing to Nations FC by 2-0 at the Dr. Kyei Sports Complex in week 28.
