Karim Zito determined to end Asante Kotoko’s four-match winless streak

Asante Kotoko head coach, Abdul Karim Zito, has opened up on facing his former club Dreams FC in match week 14 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The Porcupine Warriors have struggled in their last outings, going four matches without a win, and they must dig deep for positive results to appease their fans.

The record Premier League holders lost 1-0 at Hohoe United in their week 13 fixture last weekend, but Karim Zito expressed confidence ahead of their next fixture against a side he knows very well.

Karim Zito Anticipates Tough Game Against Former Club

“They know me I know them, they know how I work and I know how they work but for now it’s my boy who has taken over so it will be a nice game to be played because it seems we know each other but they coming here, we will still stick to our objective of winning the game,” Karim Zito told Kotoko TV.

“This is how I will take it because the last four matches to end the first round, if you want to make any meaningful impact, then you have to start winning now, because for about four games now we are yet to get a win, which is very bad for the club.

“It’s a marathon race, some can start well, but they can’t end well, so what matters is that the end justifies the means, so we are going to work seriously for that.

Asante Kotoko picked two points from their four matches, drawing goalless at Samartex and 2-2 at home to Medeama SC before a 2-1 loss away to Holy Stars and a 1-0 defeat to new boys Hohoe United. Asante Kotoko have collected 21 points from 13 matches, the same as Hearts of Oak and Samartex.

The Ghana Premier League matchday 14 fixture between Bibiani Gold Stars and Medeama has been postponed following Medeama’s release of five players to the domestic-based Ghana national team for their international friendly against South Africa’s Bafana Bafana on December 16.
