The 21-year-old, who established himself as a young forward to watch during his time with Villarreal, will now look for consistent playing time at a club where he can emerge as a star. Levante acquired the Douala native for a transfer fee of €3 million and his contract with the club from the Valencian Community is set to run until 2029.

“I am very excited to start this new stage and to be able to help my teammates and the club,” Etta Eyong shared in comments on Levante’s website announcing the move.

Etta Eyong produced a goal and two assists in Villarreal’s opening three games from the 2025-26 La Liga campaign and the Cameroonian was making major strides. He scored 19 goals in 30 matches last season for Villarreal’s reserve team before scoring his first La Liga goal on May 10, a late match winner in a 1-0 result at Girona.

The Yellow Submarine had previously brought in Etta Eyong from Cádiz, with whom he made his La Liga debut during the 2023-24 season before moving to Villarreal for a €1 million fee.

With plenty of competition at the striker position for Villarreal following the arrival of Canada national team striker Tani Oluwaseyi from Major League Soccer, Cameroon U-23 international Etta Eyong will be happy to be at a club that aims to utilize him regularly. Levante have lost all three of their La Liga games so far this season with uncertainty at the striker position, which provides an excellent opportunity.

Etta Eyong will have time to integrate with his new teammates over the international break before Levante host Real Betis in their next La Liga match on September 14.
