Orlando Pirates have officially announced the departure of winger Katlego Otladisa, bringing an end to his brief and challenging spell with the club.

The Soweto giants showed Otladisa the exit door as he was seemingly not in the plans of head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.

His time with Pirates had been uncertain for a while, especially after he was not included in the squad for the team’s pre-season tour of Spain ahead of the new 2025-26 season. This omission signalled that his future at the club was in doubt.

The 28-year-old, who joined the Buccaneers from Marumo Gallants in 2023, struggled to secure a regular spot in the squad.

He managed to make only 12 appearances for the team during his time there.

Last season, Otladisa was sent on loan to Sekhukhune United. Following his return, the club decided to mutually terminate his contract, paving the way for him to find a new team.

In a statement released on Friday, Pirates wished the player well for his future. “The Club wishes you the very best in your next chapter.” The club also extended their thanks to the player for his time with the team.
