KCCA FC has officially named Jackson Magera Kaddu and Brian Ssenyondo as co-coaches of their senior men’s team, marking a new era for the club following a disappointing 2024/25 campaign.

The club confirmed the appointments in a statement released Friday, emphasizing the strategic importance of this move.

“KCCA FC announces Mr. Jackson Magera Kaddu and Mr. Brian Ssenyondo as Co-coaches for the senior men’s team, effective immediately. This strategic decision highlights the club’s obligation to build a strong technical bench that combines experience, tactical skill, and a profound understanding of the game,” read the statement.

Magera, a familiar and respected figure at KCCA FC, brings a deep understanding of the club’s ethos. He has served in multiple roles over the years, including Head Coach of the National U15 and U17 teams, Head Coach of the KCCA Soccer Academy, Senior Assistant Coach, and Interim Head Coach. His longstanding association with the club is expected to be crucial in restoring stability and competitiveness.

Joining him is Brian Ssenyondo, the current Uganda national U-17 Head Coach. Ssenyondo brings fresh energy and a winning mentality, having previously managed clubs such as Synergy FC, Mbarara City FC, and most recently Kitara FC, where he led the team to victory in the 2023/24 Stanbic Uganda Cup before departing in November.

“His fresh perspective is expected to supplement Magera’s foundational understanding of KCCA FC,” the club noted.

Magera also briefly managed Uganda Premier League giants SC Villa and is known for his tactical discipline and youth development focus. His return to KCCA FC at a senior level is seen as part of a broader effort to rebuild after a lackluster season.

KCCA FC finished the 2024/25 season with just 50 points—19 behind champions Vipers SC—and also suffered a 2-0 defeat to the same team in the Stanbic Uganda Cup final.

With this new coaching duo, KCCA FC is hoping to reestablish its dominance in Ugandan football and restore pride to the club’s loyal fanbase.
