KCCA FC have officially announced the signing of right back Lazaro Bwambale, marking the Uganda Premier League club's second acquisition of the current transfer window.

Bwambale arrives at the Lugogo-based outfit as a free agent following the expiration of his contract with Uganda Premier League runners-up Kitara FC. He was unveiled on Wednesday evening through the club’s social media platforms.

“Cityzens, Lazaro Bwambale is a Kasasiro Boy ✅ Welcome Lazaro,” read a welcome post shared by the club, confirming the defender’s arrival.

The former Kitara man reunites with coach Brian Ssenyondo at KCCA—having previously worked together at the Hoima-based side. Ssenyondo recently joined the Kasasiro Boys as co-coach alongside Jackson Magera in a new-look technical team.

Bwambale enjoyed a standout 2024/25 season with Kitara, earning recognition that saw him called up to Uganda’s CHAN provisional squad. His performances made him one of the most sought-after full-backs on the local scene.

At Lugogo, Bwambale will be competing for a starting berth at right back with Haruna Lukwago and Gavin Kizito, adding depth and experience to KCCA’s defensive options.

He follows striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe—unveiled on Tuesday—as KCCA’s second confirmed signing as the club looks to rebuild and challenge for honours in the upcoming season.

Beyond new arrivals, the 13-time league champions have also moved to secure their core, renewing Brazilian forward Joao Gabriel’s contract and opening talks to extend deals for Usama Arafat and Filbert Obenchan.

Reports also indicate that KCCA are actively pursuing more reinforcements, with Kitara forward Jude Ssemugabi among the names being closely linked to the club.
