Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho's loan spell at Sky Bet Championship club Middlesbrough has concluded, with the club confirming his return to Sevilla.

The 28-year-old forward had joined Middlesbrough from Spanish club Sevilla on loan in January, seeking more regular playing time after falling out of favor.

During his time at the Riverside Stadium under Michael Carrick, the Nigeria international made 15 league appearances, scoring one goal and providing two assists. Notably, Iheanacho was a consistent presence for Boro, missing only one game during his loan spell – a 3-1 defeat at Stoke City.

Iheanacho is expected to pursue a permanent move away from Sevilla before the start of the 2025/26 season. He struggled to find regular playing time at the La Liga club in the first half of the campaign, failing to score in nine league appearances while scoring three goals in two Copa del Rey games against lower league opposition.
