Ghana Premier League leaders Medeama SC booked their spot in the semi finals of the MTN FA Cup after beating Attram de Visser in the quarter finals on Sunday.

The Mauve and Yellow were held by the Division One side to a goalless draw at full time with the game extending into extra time at the Cape Coast Stadium.

Attram de Visser were dealt a huge blow when Referee Selorm Yao Bless gave head coach Godwin Attram a red card after failing to adhere to a caution on the touch line.

Medeama needed extra-time to qualify

Medeama were made to rely on their top flight experience to humble Attram de Visser in extra time.

After a grueling first half of the extra time, Kelvin Nkrumah fired in from inside the area to give Medeama the lead in the 109 minutes.

Nkrumah nailed Attram de Visser’s coffin when he latched on to Derick Fordjour’s pass to score his second of the evening.

Medeama forward, Abdul Salam was brought down in the penalty area late in the game with Kelvin Nkrumah stepping up to play and he scored a hat-trick.

The victory sent Medeama into the semifinals where they will face Dreams FC for a spot in the finals.

Earlier on Sunday, last two seasons’ CAF Confederation Cup semifinalists Dreams fc left it late to draw 1-1 with Heart of Lions at the same venue.

Heart of Lions broke the deadlock with 34 minutes played but Seidu Suraj pulled level for the “Still Believe Boys” in the dying embers to settle the score at 1-1.

Nations FC will face Aduana FC

After 120 minutes of action, Dreams fc won 4-3 via the penalty shootouts and they will now face Medeama SC in the semifinals.

Nations FC and former premier league champions Berekum Chelsea sold out a goalless draw at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park with Nations marching into the finals on a 4-3 penalty shootout victory.

Nations FC will now face two time Ghana Premier League champions Aduana FC, who eliminated Techiman Liberty Youth in the other quarter final match.
