Zambia national team and former Young Africans forward Kennedy Musonda scored his fourth goal of the season for Hapoel Ramat Gan, who came back from a two-goal deficit to draw Israeli second tier leaders Maccabi Petah Tikva 2-2 on Monday.
Down 0-2 heading into the final ten minutes, Musonda’s hopeful long range effort took a deflection on its way into the goal for the visitors to pull one back. Five minutes later, Ivorian midfielder Trazie Thomas’ run set up the equalizer from Nadav Markovitch to complete the comeback.
After a strong start to life in Israel, Musonda has struggled to follow through on his early success. Monday’s goal marked the Zambian’s first in nearly four months after producing three goals in his first five matches for the club based in the Tel Aviv District. He now has four goals in seventeen appearances across all competitions this season.

The result leaves Hapoel Ramat Gan in sixth place through eighteen rounds, thirteen points back of Monday’s opponents Maccabi Petah Tikva. After the 30th round, the league will split in half with the top-8 clubs in one group and a relegation group for the bottom half of the table.
Despite the decline in production with his club, Musonda represented Zambia at the ongoing 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. He made two substitute appearances in Chipolopolo’s opening two matches against Mali and Comoros in Group A, where they were eliminated after falling 0-3 to hosts Morocco in the final group stage match.
