Kenya Police FC head coach Etienne Ndayiragije has pledged to strengthen the squad ahead of their CAF Champions League campaign next season.

The Law Enforcers will represent Kenya in the lucrative inter-club competition following their success in wresting the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League title from Gor Mahia. Police won the league with a game to spare after defeating Shabana 1-0 in their penultimate match.

“I have a lot of confidence in the current squad, but we will be heading into the transfer market aiming to bolster it,” the Burundian told Mozzart Sport. “Our next focus is to prepare well for the Champions League. We got a taste of continental football in the Confederation Cup, but this is a much bigger stage, and it demands that we step up our efforts.”

On winning the title, he said: “This title is a reward for the hard work everyone at the club has put in. I’m proud of the players and the entire technical team.

“We congratulate our opponents, especially Gor Mahia, who pushed us to the limit and kept the pressure on. It was a tough season with worthy competition, and we hope to maintain this standard next season.”

Police will conclude the season against Gor Mahia at Ulinzi Sports Complex on Sunday.
