Kenya national women’s team midfielder Mwanalima Adam has sealed a transfer move to HB Køge on a loan deal from Kansas City Current until the end of the year.

The 27-year-old can play both as an attacking midfielder and on the wings.

“We are pleased to have signed Jereko, who comes to HB Køge after two seasons with Kansas City Current. She brings not only technical quality, but also valuable experience from a high international level. We expect her to make a noticeable difference from day one. Her leadership and game intelligence will be a great asset to the team’s dynamics,” said Køge’s Sports Director Walid Khoury.

She joined Kansas City in 2024 from Turkish side Hakkarigücüspor and has played three official games for the American club. She was part of the team that won the NWSL x Liga MX Femenil Summer Cup in 2024.

She is also the captain of the Kenyan national team, which she has represented in several international and continental tournaments. Now she is looking forward to a new chapter in Denmark and to showing off in the HB Køge jersey.

“I was extremely excited when I heard that I would be starting a new chapter at HB Køge. It has long been a dream of mine to play at this level – to meet new people and show my teammates what I can do,” she said after putting pen to paper.

“I will give everything to bring my skills to play and contribute to the team’s success. I am really looking forward to working with the team, because it is through cooperation and togetherness that we can create something great.”

She began her professional career with Mombasa Olympic while in high school before signing with Kenyan Women’s Premier League club Thika Queens F.C. in 2018. She led the league in goals and her team to an undefeated record in 2021.

Later in 2021, Adam moved to Turkey and signed with Hakkarigücü Spor to play in the 2021–22 Turkish Super League. She scored her first professional hat-trick on 2 April 2022 in a 6-0 win over Dudullu, taking her tally on the season to 11 goals in her first 17 games.
