Former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League champions Gor Mahia have reached an agreement to part ways with Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale only six months after he joined the club.

A statement from the club from the social media handles confirmed the exit of player: “The club and Ugandan striker Charles Bbaale have reached a mutual agreement to part ways. We truly appreciate his contribution during his time with us and extend our best wishes in his future pursuits.”

The decision by the record Kenyan champions ended Bbaale’s tenure at K’Ogalo having joined them in January 2025 from Rayon Sports in Rwanda. Bbaale joined the club at a time they were struggling without following the exit of Benson Omalla.

However, he did not live up to expectations as Gor Mahia finished last season without a trophy. First, they relinquished the Premier League title to Kenya Police FC with two matches to spare.

Their last chance to grab silverware came in the final fixture of the season – the FKF Cup final – but K’Ogalo failed again after losing 2-1 against Nairobi United.

The poor run saw the club dismiss stand-in coaches Zedekiah ‘Zico’ Otieno and Michael Nam. Gor Mahia have already appointed Ghanaian coach Charles Akonnor ahead of the new season.
