Kenyan star Mwanalima Adam seals permanent transfer to HB Køge Women

Kenya national women’s team midfielder Mwanalima Adam has sealed a permanent transfer move from National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) outfit Kansas City Current to Danish outfit HB Køge Women.

Adam, who helped Harambee Starlets qualify for the WAFCON, had initially joined HB Køge on a loan deal from Kansas City which was scheduled to conclude at the end of the year.

Confirming the signing, HB Køges said in a statement on their official website: “Adam has been on loan from Kansas City Current since the summer on a deal that runs until the end of the year. This loan deal will now be made permanent, and the Kenyan international will continue with HB Køge Women until the summer of 2027.”

Adam has become an important part of the team

Discussing the decision to make the deal permanent, HB Køge Sports Director Jonas Nielsen, said: “We are really happy that Adam is continuing at the club. She is a talented player who has quickly become an important part of the team.

“It was therefore, quite natural for us to want to continue the collaboration – especially because she thrives here and fits perfectly into the dynamics of the squad.”

Adam has so far played 13 games for HB Køge Women and scored one goal – it came in the away game against FCV Farul Constanța. The 28-year-old midfielder is delighted that her stay at HB Køge will now be extended.

“I’m staying at the club because it feels like my home. I have a really good connection with the people here, and I believe in the direction we’re moving in. I’m really happy to be here and can’t wait to keep giving everything I have,” explained Adam.

Adam and the rest of HB Køge Women will play in the last home game of the year in the A-league against FC Nordsjælland.
