The FDH Bank Premiership side, which is barely a year old in the top-flight league, confirmed the recruitment of the 50-year-old to fill the void created after the exit of Gerald Phiri Senior last season.
“Ekhaya FC is pleased to announce the appointment of Leonard Odipo as the club’s new Technical Director on a three-year deal,” reads the club’s statement.
“Odipo now joins Ekhaya FC to support the club’s technical direction, development structures, and overall football strategy. The club welcomes Leonard Odipo to Ekhaya FC.”
The man who holds a CAF licence and KNVB (Dutch) Advanced Coaching Certificate has managed Kenyan top clubs including most recently Mathare United FC.
The new TD is expected to bring valuable experience to Ekhaya FC’s senior and youth football drawing from his experience from his involvement in Kenya’s under-15, 17 and 20 national teams. Odipo is credited with steering Kenya Under 15 side to the final of the 2023 CAF African Schools Championship.
Odipo is a CAF-accredited Coach Educator and has been involved with the Football Kenya Federation. He will work with Ekhaya FC coach Enos Chatama who led the team to a seventh-place finish in its maiden 2025 season.
The Kenyan won SuperSport Top 8 Cup and Community Shield Cup with Tusker FC in 2014.
