Former Kaizer Chiefs star Khama Billiat has ended speculation about his next club after making a shock move to newly-promoted Zimbabwean top division side Scotland FC.
The Castle Lager Premier League debutants have confirmed the signing of the Warriors forward but did not provide details about contract duration.
“Khama Billiat is Scottish!” the club posted a picture of Khama alongside club officials.
The 34-year-old is Scotland’s second biggest catch this transfer window after also reportedly signing newly-crowned Zimbabwe Castle Lager Premier League Footballer of the Year, Walter Musona, from champions Simba Bhora FC.
Billiat's manager Godfrey Bakasa was not available for comment on the latest move for Billiat, whose season-long contract with Yadah FC ended on December 31, 2024. The Warriors’ winger revived his career after signing for Yadah FC midway through the season following his exit from South Africa where he passed up an opportunity to renew his romance with Kaizer Chiefs.
Billiat finished as the second leading league scorer in Zimbabwe while also transferring his scintillating form to the national team, leading the Warriors qualify to the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations finals. The wide midfielder was influential in helping the Warriors return to the continental football showpiece after grabbing an assist in the decisive one-all draw with Kenya’s Harambee Stars in November 2024.
The ex-Mamelodi Sundowns player scored 13 goals and provided 10 assists for Yadah, four goals behind leading scorer Lynoth Chikuhwa of Highlanders, prompting Warriors coach Michael Nees to recall him in August this year.
