BUL FC head coach Abbey Bogere Kikomeko made a determined return to the touchline as his side battled to a 1-1 draw with Express FC in the Uganda Premier League match day five clash at the FUFA Technical Centre, Njeru.
The encounter marked Kikomeko’s first match back in the dugout following a six-month FUFA-imposed suspension that kept him away from all football-related activities.
In April, the FUFA Disciplinary Panel handed the tactician a six-month ban and a UGX 5 million fine for violent conduct towards a steward and threatening match officials during a Uganda Cup tie between Kitara FC and BUL FC. The sanction saw him miss the final games of last season and the opening four fixtures of the current campaign.
Back on the sidelines, Kikomeko expressed satisfaction with his team’s commitment and effort to secure a point against a rejuvenated Express side.
He acknowledged that his players showed strong character throughout the contest, creating several scoring chances despite failing to convert them.
“We got a couple of chances that we didn’t take, but with this draw, we can build on that,” Kikomeko remarked after the game.
Looking ahead, the tactician said the team’s focus now shifts to their next outing against NEC FC, where they aim to correct mistakes and return to winning ways.
