Kings Kangwa scores in Hapoel Beer Sheva draw

After a difficult 2023-24 season with Red Star Belgrade and KV Kortrijk in Belgium, Zambian playmaker Kings Kangwa is enjoying an excellent 2024-25 campaign with Israeli top flight side Hapoel Be'er Sheva.


Kangwa scored his 10th goal in all competitions this season on Monday as Hapoel earned a point against Beitar Jerusalem to remain at the top of the Israeli Premier League table. Kangwa arrived to produce a calm right-footed finish from Dan Biton's cross in the 13th minute to give the visitors the lead at the Teddy Stadium. Kangwa now has 11 goals and 8 assists in 30 games across all competitions.



Beitar did find an equalizer later in the first half from Omer Atzili before dominating the second half. However, Hapoel held on for a draw to move one point clear of Israeli giants Maccabi Tel Aviv.


Kangwa and Hapoel will now advance to the championship round where they are grouped with the five other members of the top-six. Each team will play each other home-and-away to add on to the points they accumulated during the first stage. After finishing third last season, Kangwa has been a crucial piece of
