Uganda Premier League side Kitara FC has confirmed the appointment of former club chairman, Deo Kasozi, as the Chief Community Resource Mobilizer.
The appointment, which takes immediate effect from 19th August 2025, was announced by the club’s board of directors and will run for a two-year term.
According to a statement released by the club, Kasozi will play a central role in driving community engagement, building partnerships, and mobilizing resources to enhance both the growth and sustainability of Kitara FC.
“The Board of Directors of Kitara Football Club is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kasozi Deo as the Chief Community Resource Mobiliser for a period of two (2) years, effective 19.08.2025.
In this role, Mr. Kasozi will spearhead the club’s efforts in mobilizing resources, strengthening partnerships, as well as driving community engagement programs that will support the growth and sustainability of Kitara FC.
The Board is confident that his experience and love for community development will greatly contribute to the continued success of the club both on and off the pitch. We congratulate Mr. Kasozi Deo on his appointment and wish him success in his new role,” the statement read.
Kasozi, a legal practitioner by profession, first joined Kitara’s leadership when he replaced Godfrey Bamwenda as chairman in July 2022. After stepping aside, he was succeeded by Gilbert Nyaika.
Meanwhile, Kitara FC has also confirmed the retention of its technical bench. Head coach Wasswa Bbosa and assistant coach George William Lutalo have both signed fresh two-year contracts, while Yusuf Ssenyonjo has been appointed as the new goalkeeping coach, replacing Richard Kansole.
