Manchester City FC’s Ivorian assistant coach Kolo Toure has sung praises of his boss Pep Guardiola, describing him as incredible.
The former Arsenal defender made the remarks as quoted by Manchester Evening News, days after his younger brother Yaya Touré blasted the Spaniard manager.
Reflecting on their cat-and-mouse relationship, the former FC Barcelona midfielder, Yaya, told the media that he sees a snake in Guardiola for having treated him poorly in Spain and England.
In contrast, Kolo Touré described the Manchester City boss as incredible to work with. “Working with Pep Guardiola is incredible. He allows me to be who I am. I was not expecting that, but the first thing he told me when I came was just be you. This is incredible,” he said.
The Ivorian explained the difference between Guardiola and other managers in terms of man management.
“When you work for certain managers, they will tell you what they want you to do, but Pep wants you to express yourself because he knows that every individual has a special skill. He doesn’t keep you in one frame. He allows you to express yourself, to be the best that you can for the team. That is top,” he said.
Guardiola promoted Kolo Toure from City’s Under-18 team to the senior team’s coaching panel.
