Ghana Premier League: “Kotoko has slim chance of winning title” – Prince Owusu

Interim head coach of Asante Kotoko Prince Owusu says, the club has a tiny chance of winning the Ghana Premier League.

His comments come after the Porcupine Warriors walloped Nations FC 3-0 in week 26 of the Ghana Premier League on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Prior to beating Nations FC, the two time African champions had managed just a win a draw in their last five games but Prince Owusu believes the victory against Nations has brought the best out of the squad.

Kotoko share third spot with sworn rivals Hearts of Oak

“I think we have good talents out there in our team [and] a lot went on for these past two weeks that we were off. We had a lot of meetings to come back to the form that the fans want us to be and we ourselves have to pay.

“And the boys responded very well and I could see the attitude of wanting to play is very out there and that’s what came and we got such a result,” Prince Owusu said in a post-match press conference.

Prince Owusu remains confident that, there is a tiny chance of winning the Ghana Premier League title after the big win.

“We knew that if we won this game things were going to change, it has happened before with Kotoko and it will happen again so we have to be alert and take our training, preparations and everything very seriously so that we can win the rest of the games [and] definitely something is going to happen

Asante Kotoko now share the second spot on the Ghana Premier League table with sworn rivals, Hearts of Oak on 42 points from 26 games. Hearts of Oak were held to goalless draw at Heart of Lions on Friday, March 20.
