Ghana Premier League club, Asante Kotoko have been dealt a huge blow following the injury to midfielder, Andrews Ntim Manu.
Ntim-Manu is set for a long spell on the sidelines after sustaining an Anterior Cruciate Ligament tear in their FA Cup finals against Golden Kicks SC.
Reports from the club have it that Ntim Manu will be absent from the field for close to nine months – a blow head coach, Karim Zito must quickly deal with before the start of the 2025/26 domestic and continental campaign.
According to the Kumasi-based club, the midfielder will, in the coming days, undergo surgery to correct the injury.
“Asante Kotoko SC can confirm that midfielder Andrews Ntim Manu has sustained an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and is set to undergo surgery in the coming days,” the Porcupine Warriors said in an official statement on Tuesday, July 1.
Asante Kotoko defeated Golden Kicks by 2-1 in the finals of the FA Cup to qualify for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup – a competition the club has yet win.
The record Ghana Premier League holders finished in third last season on 58 points, same as sworn rivals Hearts of Oak after 34 matches.
