Ghana Premier League: “Kotoko prepared enough for Samartex” – Prince Owusu

Asante Kotoko will hope for a renewed energy when they host Samartex in week 28 of the Ghana Premier League on Monday.

Fresh from holding two time champions Aduana FC to a goalless draw last weekend at the Nana Agyemang Badu Park in Dormaa, the Porcupine Warriors welcome 8th place Samartex to the Baba Yara Stadium.

Asante Kotoko head coach Prince Yaw Owusu has disclosed that the team is full of confidence heading into their upcoming fixture.

Kotoko have picked two wins in last five games

“Yeah, I think the draw against Aduana FC boosted our morale going into the game against FC Samartex,” the coach told AKSC TV.

“I think we’ve done a lot of them. We score a lot of goals, and the boys are still working on it, you know, to get better.

“When we meet Samartex, we have some drills for them today and tomorrow. I will prepare them for the game ahead of us.

Prince Owusu urged the teeming supporters to throng the stadium in numbers to rally behind the club.

“I’m wishing, and I’m asking the fans to do us a favour, to come to the pitch, to the field, to watch the game.

“It’s Easter Monday, and it’s a holiday, so they should come and then complete their holidays with us at the stadium.”

Asante Kotoko currently sit in 4th on the log with 43 points, three point behind rivals Hearts of Oak who pipped Young Apostles 1-0 in Accra on Sunday.

The record league holders have won twice, pulled two draws and one defeat in their last five games.

The Week 28 fixture between Asante Kotoko and FC Samartex is scheduled to kick off at 3 pm.
