Asante Kotoko striker Albert Amoah has reacted to the perfect partnership with compatriot Kwame Opoku in the club’s frontline.

Amoah, who has bagged eight goals in 21 league appearances this season, climbed high to head home the club’s 1-0 win in the semifinals of the MTN FA Cup against Berekum Chelsea at the Tarkwa TnA Park last Sunday.

Speaking after Kotoko’s semifinals qualification, the former Great Olympics striker opened up on his growing on-field chemistry with fellow forward Kwame Opoku.

“We’ve learned to play to our strengths,” Amoah said. "I always know where Kwame is positioned when we’re on the attack. It wasn’t like that at first, we didn’t connect well. But now, there’s a strong understanding between us.

“The coaches and even our fans have spoken to us about our partnership, and that’s really helped us improve how we play together," he said.

The record Ghana Premier League holders will chase their 10th FA Cup title when they take on Division One League side, Golden Kicks in the finals on June 15 at the Legon Stadium. Golden Kicks eliminated Attram De Visser with a 3-1 score on Saturday May 10 to reach the finals for the first time in their history.

Kotoko last lifted the FA Cup in 2017, defeating Hearts of Oak 3-1 at the Tamale Stadium and now stand on the brink of ending their trophy drought in the competition.

Asante Kotoko will now turn their attention to the Ghana Premier League where they will face Dreams FC in the Matchday 31 fixture at the Tuba Astro Turf on Sunday.
