Ghana Premier League: Kotoko coach Karim Zito sets audacious title ambitions

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Abdul Karim Zito is not giving up on the chase for the Ghana Premier League despite honouring just ten games into the current campaign.

Kotoko remains the only club yet to be defeated, recording five wins and five draws in ten games with one outstanding fixture against Young Apostles to be cleared on Wednesday November 26 at the Crosby Awuah Memorial Park.

Karim Zito, who masterminded Kotoko’s FA Cup glory last season, believes the Porcupine Warriors have their eyes set on the domestic top flight title.

“Apart from being the first, no position fits Kotoko so we are chasing, it’s not too late. Playing a draw with Samartex away..it’s only when I play away from home that it pains me because now I have to go and win outside to balance the home games [and] this is what I do,” Karim Zito said.

“When I beat Hearts of Oak, I balanced the draw I played against Heart of Oak Lions so we are left with one [and] this is how I calculated my points and I know the number of points I have to get especially at home before the end of the first round.”

Asante have 20 points from ten games and will go joint top with Aduana FC if they beat Young Apostles in the outstanding week 3 fixture.
