Senegal international Krepin Diatta is expected to make an injury return for Ligue 1 club side AS Monaco.
The versatile player has been absent since Monaco’s victory at Lens on February 21, but he will likely be in line for the clash against Olympique Lyon next weekend, and thus available for the next Lions of Teranga squad.
AS Monaco’s medical teams have had their work cut out for them since the start of the season.
They are constantly having to get several players from the Principality club back on their feet. Among them is Krepin Diatta who has played 18 matches this season.
Injured during the 3-2 victory in Lens on February 21, and suffering from a thigh injury, the versatile Senegalese player has missed the last four matches including the one against Stade Brestois this Saturday, March 14.
But the news has been better in recent hours as the former Club Brugge player participated in part of Monaco’s training session this Friday, March 13, but the Monegasque medical staff deemed him not quite ready to return against Brest.
However, Krepin Diatta will resume normal training next week and will be part of the AS Monaco squad for the trip to Lyon on Sunday, March 22.
The 27-year-old African champion, who missed the 2025 AFCON final against Morocco – due to illness – should be called up by Pape Thiaw for these two friendly matches against Peru (March 28, at the Stade de France) and Gambia (March 31, at the Stade Abdoulaye-Wade in Diamniadio).
