The utility player has however been limited to a few games for Monaco with 13 appearances in all competitions this campaign prompting uncertainty about his future as his contract runs out at the end of the season.

Diatta is currently permitted to sign a pre-contract

Speaking at a press conference attended Monaco’s CEO, Thiago Scuro, revealed that there are not yet any talks regarding an extension to his current deal.

“We are not talking about an extension at the moment. We are very focused on the club’s situation,” Scuro said.

“We hope that he will have more of an impact and more minutes on the pitch. After that, we will decide together. It isn’t just a club decision. It is also the player’s choice. At the right time, we will talk.”

Diatta is currently permitted to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club due the terms of his contract. He has made 11 appearances in Ligue without a goal this season.
