Krepin Diatta ruled out of Monaco versus PSG clash

Having been forced off early in Lens this weekend, Senegal star Krepin Diatta will not play in the Champions League play-off second leg between PSG and Monaco on Wednesday.

AS Monaco will be without Diatta at the Parc des Princes, for the Champions League playoff second leg against Paris Saint-Germain.

Substituted after half an hour during the stunning 3-2 victory at Lens this past weekend, the Senegalese international is suffering from a hamstring injury. He is therefore not among the 21 players selected for the match.

Diatta prematurely left his AS Monaco teammates on Saturday on the occasion of the trip to Bollaert as part of the 23rd day of Ligue 1. The Senegalese right-back had to leave after an injury after half an hour of play after being hit in the thigh.

Diatta was replaced by Aladji Bamba

The Krepin Diatta injury occurred midway through the first half when the winger signaled discomfort in his thigh. He was replaced by Aladji Bamba in the 31st minute.

For Monaco, the timing was unfortunate. Diatta’s pace and vertical runs are crucial to stretching opposition defenses. His withdrawal required tactical adjustments as the visitors were already struggling to contain Lens’ attacking momentum.

Senegal benefited from Diatta’s contributions during their victorious 2025 Africa Cup of Nations campaign, where he featured in six matches as Senegal defeated hosts Morocco national football team 1-0 in the final.
