Ghana is on the market in search of a new head coach following the sacking of former international, Otto Addo.
The former Borussia Dortmund forward was relieved of his job after the Black Stars 2-1 loss against Germany in Stuttgart on Monday.
The four time African champions had lost 5-1 to Austria at the Ernst Happel Stadium three days earlier, a result that shook Otto Addo’s position.
Several names have popped up to fill the void created by Otto Addo and one of the coaches linked to the vacant Ghana job is current Sudan manager, James Kwesi Appiah.
Appiah, who managed the Black Stars in two spells, has however denied the links.
“It’s not true. I am in Saudi Arabia to monitor some Sudanese players,” he told GHANASoccernet.com.
Appiah led Ghana at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil where the team’s poor run saw them exit at the Group stage.
He was dismissed in 2015 and re-appointed two years later but he supervised a disappointing Africa Cup of Nations in 2019 in Egypt, a situation that ended his reign.
Ghana will prepare for the World Cup with two more international friendlies against Wales and Mexico.
The 2010 FIFA World Cup quarterfinalists are paired in Group L against Panama, Croatia and England for the tournament fixed in Canada, USA and Mexico.
