USM Alger has officially announced the appointment of Lamine N’Diaye as the team’s head coach until the end of the season.
The Senegalese coach has signed with the Algerian club until the end of the current season, with an option to extend his contract if the club’s management is satisfied with the results at the season’s conclusion.

The agreement includes an option to renew if the club’s objectives are achieved.
N’Diaye arrives at his new station after leaving the similar post at TP Mazembe following a 2-1 away win at Sanga Balende in their week 17 fixture.
The 69-year-old was making his second stint at Mazembe after previously working as a manager and technical director between 2010 and 2014.
Under the guidance of the former Senegal national team assistant coach, TP Mazembe won one CAF Champions League and two CAF Super Cups.
The veteran tactician was also at the helm when the Ravens made their famous run at the 2010 FIFA Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi, where they fell to Inter Milan in a 0-3 defeat after becoming the first African club to reach the final.
He left TP Mazembe on top of the Lubumbashi-based Group A table in the DRC’s top flight Linafoot on 42 points from 17 matches.
Meanwhile, he now joins a USM Alger side currently lying ninth in the Algerian Ligue 1 with 24 points from 15 matches. They have registered five wins, nine draws, and lost only once.
N’Diaye played as a midfielder for US Rail, SC Orange, Cannes and Mulhouse, and also represented the Senegalese national side at international level.
He became technical director of TP Mazembe in May 2013. In December 2014, he became technical director of AC Léopards. By July 2018, he was manager of Sudanese club Al-Hilal.
In November 2019, he became manager of Guinean club Horoya AC, and later returned to TP Mazembe in 2023, winning the league title in 2023-24 and reaching the semifinal of the CAF Champions League, before departing in January 2026.
He will be in the dugout when USM Alger takes on JS Saoura in another league fixture on Sunday.
