Tunisian Ligue 1 side Stade Tunisien has named the well-travelled Lassaad Dridi as their new head coach.
Dridi replaces Chokri Khatoui at the helm of the Tunis-based club.
The decision to replace Khatoui came as a surprise, as Stade Tunisien are third in the league with 30 points, one point behind leaders Esperance de Tunis. The club stated that they have terminated the contract of Khatoui. The club failed in its attempt to qualify for the 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup group stages, and the premature end to its continental ambitions has affected Khatoui’s stay at the club.
The Stade Tunisien board has named Dridi as their new coach. The 48-year-old returns to the club he had played for and managed before.
It will be his third stint at the West Tunis side. Dridi has managed three Tunisian clubs in 2025 alone. He left CS Sfaxien after the end of the 2024/25 season. He was in charge of Etoile du Sahel at the start of the new campaign but left after only three games. He will be tasked with bringing positive results at Stade Tunisien and making the club competitive until the end of the season.
